With a distinguished career spanning military music and elite education, Sheila is an award-winning percussionist, collaborative leader, and dedicated educator. 

 

Her exceptional trajectory began early as a rudimental prodigy, earning state and national solo snare titles, debuted at Carnegie Hall, and completed a month-long European concert tour all before the age of 16.

 

Her collegiate studies culminated in a coveted appointment to The United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. Midway through her military career, she successfully transitioned to the podium, serving as the Commander, Conductor, and Music Director for the 257th Army Band.

As a sought-after educator and the Founder and Director of the Mid-Atlantic Drum Camp, Sheila serves as both head administrator and instructor. She personally curates a tailored curriculum framework for each artist and seamlessly aligning camp-wide objectives with camper input and feedback.  In just four days, she pulls off the monumental feat of getting the diverse groups performance-ready across a vast array of genres. Every piece is handpicked to build and strengthen aspiring drummers musical foundation using authentic, essential structure and grooves.

Through strategic guidance and daily mentorship, Sheila empowers drummers of all levels—beginners to advanced—to elevate their skills. Her studio serves as a proven bridge to the nation’s most competitive music schools. Her students consistently secure robust scholarships to elite institutions, including Duke University, Peabody Conservatory, the University of Maryland, Catholic University of America, and West Virginia University to name a few.
