Willie Howell

One of the best GoGo drummers in the nation, Willie Howell III brings his hometown chops to our events while energetically performing over 200 shows each year.  

 

Raised in the vibrant city of Washington, D.C. his passion for drumming ignited at the tender age of two, mimicking rhythms in church using clothes pins as makeshift drumsticks. He began performing in the church as well as the local music scene, with his unique drumming opening doors to numerous musical opportunities.

 In his previous role as Music Director for EL Debarge, he shared the stage with an impressive  artist lineup including Ginuwine, Wale, Chrisette Michele, Eric Roberson, CCB, RareEssence, Vybe, and Chitty Bang, among others.  He currently holds down thrones-man duties for the Still Familiar Band and Willie Howell Project

In addition to drumming, Willie has made a notable name for himself as a producer, collaborating with EL Debarge and creating a unique music platform in the industry.

Willie  has an active private lesson studio and endorses  "LOS CABOS DRUMSTICKS" and “TRX” CYMBALS,  As a passionate educator, Willie founded the Lum Drum School, teaching over 200 drummers of all ages since its inception four years ago, and allowing him to share the joy of music with his local community.​
